The
Disability Discrimination Act 1995
The Disability Rights Commission, through their helpline and
website, provides information and advice to both disabled people on their rights
and to service providers on their duties under the DDA. Rochford District
Residents supports the goal of The Disability Rights Commission: "a society
where all disabled people can participate fully as equal citizens". The
Disability Discrimination Act Part III - gives disabled people important rights
of access to everyday services that others take for granted. Section III of the
DDA, which refers to accessible websites, came into force on 1st October 1999
and the Code of Practice for this section of the DDA was published on 27th May
2002. Rochford District Residents has endeavoured to meet its obligations in
providing, as a voluntary organisation, this web site service where all disabled
people can participate fully as equal citizens. If there is anything further
that we can do please contact us immediately.
